 Mothers & More

Mothers & More is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy.  We address mother’s needs as individuals and members of society, and promote the value of all the work mothers do.

A mother is more than any single role she plays at any given point in her lifetime.  She is entitled to fully explore and develop her identity as she chooses: as a woman, a citizen, a parent or an employee.

All the work mothers do - whether paid or unpaid – has social and economic value.

All women deserve recognition and support for their right to choose if and how to combine parenting and paid employment.

All mothers, all children and all families are unique.  We respect the wisdom of each mother to decide how to care for her children, her family and herself.

Mothers have the right to fulfill their caregiving responsibilities without incurring social and economic penalties.

The transitions women make into and through motherhood are challenging and can be difficult.

Together, mothers are powerful.

The Las Cruces Chapter of Mothers & More (Chapter #160) began in 1996.  Today our group has grown to over 60 members and more are always welcome!  Our children range from infants to elementary school age. And although we come from different educational and professional backgrounds we have at least one very important common bond:  We have all chosen to, in some way, modify our careers to mother our children.  

The Las Cruces Chapter covers a wide geographical area from West El Paso to Dona Ana County, with most activities located in Las Cruces.

We offer a wide variety of activities for moms, kids and families. All of our meetings and activities are optional, so you can participate in as many or as few activities as you would like.  Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Emerick Real Estate in Mesilla Park, 1730 Tierra de Mesilla, NM. Topics covered include:  women's issues, parenting issues, workplace/future aspirations.  .

Whether you need time for yourself, to meet other moms, opportunities for personal growth, support in career/family choices and transitions, or to find more activities for your children...Mothers & More is here for you!
